Formerly known as The Snake Trio, this innovative ensemble enmeshes elements of jazz with Venezuelan folk rhythms such as Joropo, Pasaje, Calypso, Gaita, and Golpe de Tambor. Their unique sound is especially notable for its complex rhythms and adventurous improvisations. As their reviewer put it, "This is not a Venezuelan jazz fusion sound, but more like a call and response between American jazz and traditional Venezuelan music.
